2019 Conference

Dunedin, New Zealand 2019

University of Otago

3-5 July 2019

After our incredibly successful joint conference in 2015, the OCS is happy to announce that we will once again be joining the New Zealand Marine Sciences Society for a joint conference in 2019. This will be held from 3-5 July in beautiful Dunedin at the University of Otago.

While many details of the conference are still being finalised, we can announce that once again we will be offering generous student awards to fund attendance at the conference. Details of the awards can be found here and submissions are due by April 19th 2019.

Registration and Abstract submission will open on April 9th via the event website: https://www.nzmss2019.co.nz/

We look forward to seeing everyone in New Zealand and once again sharing the fantastic research happening in the society.

Oceania Chondrichthyan Society acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands and seas throughout Oceania and the wider Indo-Pacific region in which our society and its members live and work. We pay our respects to the First Nations peoples whose deep and enduring connections to Land, Sea, and Sky Country have guided sustainable practices and protected ecosystems for thousands of years. We honour their knowledge systems and continued leadership in ocean and coastal stewardship. We recognise that lands were never ceded and extend our respect to Elders past and present, and to the next generation of Indigenous leaders in marine sciences.
