Moreton Bay Research Station (MBRS)

MBRS Accommodation

Accommodation is available onsite at MBRS for all conference delegates. Bunk rooms are available that will contain up to four delegates at the cost of $30 each per night which is payable when you register. Options are available upon registering for groups to request rooms together.

A select few two person bunk rooms are also available but the exact number will not be known until closer to the conference. Requests for a two person room can be made when registering with preference given to any delegates that have greater need of one.

Apart from the conference dinner, all meals are provided at MBRS as part of your registration (Wed – Fri).

Offsite Accommodation

If you wish to stay in private accommodation there are several options through house rental web sites and smaller backpacker/cabin rentals in the different townships on the Island.  There are public buses that run from Dunwich to the surf beachside town of Point Lookout and the bayside town of Amity Point (http://www.stradbrokeislandbuses.com.au/timetables.html).  You can also pay to bring your car to the island on the car ferry (https://www.stradbrokeferries.com.au).

Conference Dinner

The conference dinner will be held from 6:30pm on Friday 23rd February at The Little Ship Club in Dunwich, located near the Gold Cat passenger ferry terminal and in easy walking access from MBRS.  The conference dinner price is $90 which includes a 3-course meal and open bar for 3 hours (beer, wine and soft drinks).   www.littleshipclub.com.au/
